Karen FitzPatrick
Karen has over 22 years’ experience within the New Zealand building industry, working with various Regional and Territorial Authorities. She has been a Technical Expert for International Accreditation New Zealand and has maintained this affiliation since 2007. Karen initially wrote the quality manual for the Hurunui District Council, who were the third Council in New Zealand to gain Building Consent Accreditation when the regulations were first introduced in 2005. Since then Karen has completed numerous building control system reviews and undertaken specific engineering of building control systems for Building Consent Authorities across New Zealand. Karen holds a current competency in processing and inspections both Residential 3 and Commercial 3 buildings. Her experience includes the provision of pre-lodgement meetings and reviews to assist with applications progressing through the Councils systems more efficiently.
As the Regulatory Manager Karen leads a team that supports Territorial Authorities with building consent processing and inspections.
